Gloria Jeanne Jones: 1929-2005

Gloria Jeanne Jones of Craig, died March 16, 2005, at The Memorial Hospital after a short illness. She was 76.

Gloria Jeanne Roberts was born Jan. 14, 1929, in Durango, to Roy and Rose (Crawley) Roberts.

Jones was raised and attended school in Durango.

After graduation from high school, she attended a nursing school in Malibu and earned a registered nursing degree. She married Vernon Jones and to this union one daughter was born. The family lived in Durango where Jones worked as a registered nurse. Jones moved to Craig in 1993.

She enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her and knew her.

Jones is survived by her daughter, Diana (Gary) Meyer, of Craig; step-daughter, Jan Kenard, of California; step-son, Jeff Brandon, of Washington; nieces Sandra Leonard and Roye Edstrom; and nephew, Steve (Darlene) Wylie.

Jones was preceded in death by her parents, her sister and her husband.

Services were held March 21, 2005, at Grant Mortuary Chapel with Parrish Terry Officiating.

Selections were “Old Rugged Cross,” “Rock of Ages,” and “I Can Only Imagine.”

Interment was at Green Mount Cemetery.

Services also will be held Thurs-day, March 31, 2005, at 10 a.m., at Hood Mortuary in Durango.
