A comedy show will take place in the Sports Page Bar at 7 p.m. Entry is $5 and draught beer will be served green.

A drop of food coloring could change your luck for the better, OP Bar & Grill owner Delbert Knez said.

It'll also give you a discount.

Eight beers on tap at the restaurant and bar will be available for $1.50 today if it's green, keeping with the spirit of St. Patrick's Day, the widely celebrated Irish holiday.

Like many restaurants across town, Knez also is serving the traditional Irish meal of corned beef, cabbage and red potatoes.

The all-you-can-eat buffet will be set out at 2:30 p.m. and will cost $2.

Knez said he has offered the meal for free for the past 14 years, but this year, he added a charge to cover a little of the cost.

"It's just something to give back to the public," he said about the OP's St. Patrick's Day specials. "It's an appreciation day for my customers. I think they like the corn beef. And they like the green beer with it. It's always been a tradition and it's supposed to be good luck."

Danny Griffiths, owner of J.W. Snacks said St. Patrick's Day is "hands down the best drinking day of the year."

His restaurant and bar will also be serving up traditional Irish fare, as well as Irish whiskey shot specials and green Jell-O shots.

"For some reason, it's more socially acceptable to drink on St. Patty's Day," he said.

But Griffiths admitted Tuesday that he wasn't Irish.

"I am tomorrow," he said.

For something other than food and beer, the Holiday Inn of Craig will be hosting a comedian and hypnotist named Gary Conrad.

Missy Arnett, Holiday Inn food and beverage director, said the Sports Page Bar in the hotel has been hosting a monthly comedy night anyway, and she thought the show would be an added bonus to what is already one of the better bar nights of the year.

"I figured it would bring some laughs," Arnett said. "Just some comic relief and laughs for St. Patty's Day."
