CenturyLink to offer $145,000 in grants to Colorado teachers

CenturyLink is connecting teachers with technology for the classroom.

The CenturyLink Clarke M. Williams Foundation’s Teachers and Technology grant program, administered by Colorado Mesa University, recently opened the application process for teachers in CenturyLink’s local service areas who want to implement technology innovatively in their classrooms to increase student achievement.

“As school budgets tighten, more and more teachers are looking for alternative ways to enhance the learning experience for their students, and the CenturyLink Teachers and Technology program is available to these innovative teachers,” said Penny Larson, CenturyLink vice president and general manager for southern and western Colorado, in a press release. “With the budget constraints our schools are dealing with, this program provides the financial support to get technology into the classroom.”

The foundation will award more than $1.4 million in grants to support technology in the classroom through the 2013-14 Teachers and Technology program, offered throughout the company’s service areas in the U.S.

CenturyLink service is neither required nor considered in the review of applications.
