Dorothea Dee Toovey

Craig resident Dorothea Dee Toovey died Aug. 19, 2003, at Doak Walker. She was 83.

Toovey was born Jan. 5, 1920, in Fort Riley, Kan., to William E. and Murial M. (Melrose) Donaldson.

Toovey spent her childhood in the Chicago area. She lived in Rockford Ill. She married Marvin Toovey Sept. 20, 1947, in Oak Park, Ill. She had been a resident of Craig since 1994. She was a housewife. She loved gardening, family, and her grandchildren.

Toovey is survived by her son, Bill “Chris” Toovey, of Craig; a brother, William E. Donaldson Jr., of Haggerstown, Md.; and three grandchildren.

Toovey was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one granddaughter.

Services were Aug. 23, 2003, at Craig Cemetery with Ron Gross officiating. A duet was performed by Tom and Barb Nagoda. Selections were “Amazing Grace” and “I’ll Fly Away.”
