Dogs hit by cars: On the record for June 17 to 19

Saturday, June 17

3:16 a.m. On the 700 block of East Victory Way, officers took a report of a drunken driver who almost ran into poles in front of a building, then almost hit another driver and ran a stop sign. A 46-year-old man was issued a summons for driving under the influence.

4 a.m. On the 600 block of Ranney Street, officers responded to a disturbance involving four parties. One man was outside yelling. A roommate stated he would handle the problem.

9:04 a.m. On the 2500 block of West Victory Way, officers responded to a report of a two-car crash. One vehicle was blocking the road and was towed. It’s unknown if anyone was injured.

12:22 p.m. At East Fourth Street and Legion Street, officers picked up and disposed of a found hypodermic needle.

12:59 p.m. On the 1200 block of Marianna Way, officers responded to a non-injury car crash between silver Hyundai and a white Ford F250. One backed into the other.

1:12 p.m. At Walmart, a woman was caught stealing $45.18 worth of merchandise, and was cited and trespassed from the property.

4:22 p.m. At The Memorial Hospital, officers responded to a report of disorderly conduct involving a mental health issue.

5 p.m. At Walmart, officers responded to another report of shoplifting. A female was charged with theft and trespassed from the premises.

Sunday, June 18

2:48 a.m. At East Eighth Street and Yampa Avenue, officers responded to a theft from a taxi cab passenger who refused to pay the cab driver. He was described as a man with a ponytail wearing a plaid shirt and a baseball cap. Officers were unable to locate him.

10:56 a.m. At the east Kum & Go, officers responded to a report of a fender bender in the parking lot between a Honda SUV and a GMC Canyon pickup. A female driver was issued a summons for improper backing.

12:14 p.m. On the 800 block of School Street, officers responded to a report of an injured dog. The caller reported a deer had a fawn and appeared to be attacking a gold, puffy dog. The dog wasn’t moving at first but the caller didn’t see blood. The dog then got up and walked slowly away, but appeared to be OK.

12:45 p.m. On the 2200 block of West Third Street, officers responded to a report of a silver Cadillac Eldorado that struck a dog and left the scene. When officers arrived, the dog’s owner was going to take the dog to the vet with a possible paw injury.

3:50 p.m. On the 800 block of Barclay Street, a caller reported he thinks his friend stole his cell phone a month ago.

4:20 p.m. On the 400 block of East Fourth Street, officers responded to a report of a theft. The party was moving and said a 42-inch TV and three tablets were missing from the unit.

Monday, June 19

7:25 a.m. On the 700 block of East Victory Way, a male party complained of harassment by text. The offending party was warned.

7:59 a.m. On the 2200 block of West Third Street, officers responded to a report of criminal mischief. A window of a residence was damaged by a BB gun.

11:52 a.m. On the 700 block of East Victory Way, the same male party complained of more harassment by text, but this time from different harassers.

2:33 p.m. At Columbine Apartments, officers responded to a report of verbal domestic violence. Officers mediated the conflict.

2:42 p.m. At East Eighth Street and Texas Avenue, officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers determined it was Kirby Vacuum salespeople going door to door.

2:42 p.m. At Columbine Apartments, officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance. A mother and kids were having a heated discussion.
