Delta holds on to beat MCHS boys
January 18, 2010
With less than five seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, the Delta High School boys varsity basketball team was clinging to a slim, two-point advantage against Moffat County High School.
After getting the ball to mid-court near the sideline, Moffat County's Zach Raftopoulos was able to get a 3-point shot off as the buzzer sounded.
The ball ripped through the net.
Unfortunately for Raftopoulos and the Bulldogs, his foot was out-of-bounds, and the basket was waved off.
Final score: Delta 54, Moffat County 52.
Still, MCHS (3-10 overall, 1-3 in the Western Slope League) was boosted by Raftopoulos' strong performance.
