5:30 to 8 p.m. The Craig Police Department and Wendy’s host National Night Out at Wendy’s, 1280 W. Victory Way. The free event includes mascot visits, coloring books, patrol car and fire truck rides and free Frostys for children younger than 12.

Wednesday, Aug. 2

5:30 p.m. The Northwest Colorado Energy Producers Association is holding a dinner at The Center of Craig, 601 Yampa Ave. The dinner will feature a presentation on oil shale development and new procedures for extracting oil. Guest speaker Tracy Boyd with Shell Exploration & Production Co. will begin his presentation at 8 p.m., after dinner. The cost is $28 and reservations are requested.
