9 to 11 a.m. Playgroup for toddler/preschool-age children takes place at the Early Childhood Development Preschool at the Moffat County School District administrative building, 775 Yampa Ave. Call Kevin at 824-1703 or Ann Anderson at 826-2717.

10 a.m. The Moffat County Commission honors Dr. Thomas Told, a longtime area physician, for 34 years of service as Moffat County Health Officer in conference room B at The Memorial Hospital, 750 Hospital Loop. The event is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

5 p.m. The Elks Lodge, 43 W. Victory Way, hosts bingo. Doors open at 5 p.m. Games begin at 6:15 p.m. Call Frank at 824-6131 or 620-0874.

6 to 7 p.m. Open lap swimming takes place at the Moffat County High School swimming pool, 900 Finley Lane. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students. Punch and season passes are available. Call 826-6557.

7 p.m. Fellowship Group of Alcoholics Anonymous meets at 657 Green St. Call 326-6646.

7 to 9 p.m. Celebrate Recovery meets at 1150 W. Ninth St. The group is designed to help people overcome hurts, habits and hang-ups. Childcare is provided. Call 824-5926.

7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Church of Destiny offers free labor on oil changes for single mothers and widows at Craig Conoco, 140 W. Victory Way. The gas station will offer use of its bay and church volunteers will perform the oil changes. The cost for the oil and filter is $20, or the women can bring their own. Call 824-4486.

8 a.m. The Special Olympics Colorado Western Area Summer Games begins with a torch run from Safeway, 1295 W. Victory Way, to Moffat County High School, 900 Finley Lane. Opening ceremonies will take place at 9 a.m. and track and field, power lifting and swimming events will follow.

2 p.m. The Augusta Wallihan Chapter of the National Honor Society Daughters of the American Revolution hosts its monthly meeting at the Museum of Northwest Colorado, 590 Yampa Ave.
