BCA Pool League is several months into its seventh season at The Popular Bar, 24 W. Victory Way.

The league has scored eight weeks worth of play, and remaining at the top of rankings are The Untouchables with team captain Jean Haskins in the 9-ball league, and Roy Butler's Get-R-Done for 8-ball.

Though there will be no games scheduled for the following week, the 9-Ball league takes place at 5 p.m. Sundays, consisting of three-person teams with a total of 5 players allowed on teams. The 8-Ball games are at 6 p.m. Mondays, with five-person teams and a total of eight players allowed on teams.

Players must be 21 and over and can qualify for a Las Vegas trip during both nights.

Yearly fees are $20 to play in both leagues and in all other events. Nightly fees are $5 for 9-Ball and $6 for 8-Ball, plus the cost of coins.

Work off holiday feast at Hayden's Turkey Trot

The 5K Turkey Trot Run/Walk and One-Mile Fun Run in Hayden will give people a chance to work off their Thanksgiving feast and help raise money for a good cause. The race takes place at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hayden's Dry Creek Park, 513 Poplar St., and promises to take place in "rain, snow, sleet or shine."

The cost is a donation to the Hayden Valley Elementary Health & Wellness Team. There will be prizes for the top three 5K finishers, as well as for kids who are able to snatch a feather from the turkeys in the Fun Run portion. Drawings will also take place, and refreshments such as hot cider will be available.

Runners are encouraged to bring their own water bottles.

Craig Youth Hockey signups available

Craig Youth Hockey AssociationCraig Youth Hockey Association is looking to fill its rosters for upcoming seasons with new and returning talent. CYHA is offering discounts to families signing players up for the first time. The registration fee for any of the teams — Squirts, Peewees, Bantams, Midgets — will be 50 percent off for new players. is looking to fill its rosters for upcoming seasons with new and returning talent. Craig Youth Hockey Association is looking to fill its rosters for upcoming seasons with new and returning talent. CYHA is offering discounts to families signing players up for the first time. Additionally, families already involved in the organization who refer new athletes will receive their own discount of $100 off for bringing a new member to the Midget team, $75 for Bantams, $60 for Peewees and $50 for Squirts.

Age is determined by birth year: 10U Squirts were born in 2005 and 2006, 12U Peewees 2003 and 2004, 14U Bantams 2001 and 2002 and 18U Midgets 1997 to 2000.

Registration will continue through Dec. 1.

The early program Mites — born 2007 to 2009 — also offers a five-week session from Jan. 4 to Feb. 4. New players receive 10 percent off registration.
