BCA Pool League is several months into its seventh season at The Popular Bar, 24 W. Victory Way.

After seven weeks of action, The Untouchables with team captain Jean Haskins lead the 9-ball league, and in 8-ball, Roy Butler's Get-R-Done have the best scores.

The 9-Ball league takes place at 5 p.m. Sundays, consisting of three-person teams with a total of 5 players allowed on teams. The 8-Ball games are at 6 p.m. Mondays, with five-person teams and a total of eight players allowed on teams.

Players must be 21 and over and can qualify for a Las Vegas trip during both nights.

Yearly fees are $20 to play in both leagues and in all other events. Nightly fees are $5 for 9-Ball and $6 for 8-Ball, plus the cost of coins.

CNCC women's hoops posts good numbers to start season

Colorado Northwestern Community College women's basketball team went 1-1 this past weekend at the Husky Classic, hosted by the Air Force Prep Academy in Colorado Springs, starting against Midland College.

The Lady Spartans lost, 91-58, led in scoring by Shelby Harvey with 15 points. Tyra Rodriguez with eight and Kelsey Harvey and Sarah Midgley each with six. Shelby Harvey led the team in rebounding with six for the game, while Rodriguez led the team in assists with four on the afternoon.

Day two of the tournament saw CNCC pick up a 73-32 win over the Adams State University JV squad. Players were 27 for 51 shooting from the field, led by Shelby Harvey with 13 points, Taylor Martin 12 and Cylee Tuimaunei and Kelsey Harvey each with 10. Tuimaunei also had her first double-double of the season with a team-leading 11 rebounds to go along with her 10 points.

The squad started its season with dual wins at the Little Big Horn Classic in Crow Agency, Montana. On Saturday, the Lady Spartans finish a three-day road trip to Gillette, Wyoming, meeting United Tribes Technical College.

Hockey league seeks players

Adult co-ed drop-in games are available at 8:30 p.m. Thursdays and at 7:15 p.m. Sundays at the Moffat County Ice Arena at Loudy-Simpson Park, 600 S. Ranney St.

Rates are $10 per game or $240 for the season, and all ability levels are welcome.
