As part of the Moffat County Balloon Festival, Friends of Moffat County Education saw dozens of runners turn out for the early morning Elevate Education 5K and One-Mile Fun Run.

The organization provided prizes for the fleetest of foot in several age brackets. Top boy and girl under age 13 were Wyatt Mortenson and Emma Jones. In ages 13 to 18, Connor Scranton and Lauren Samuelson were the top finishers.

Among adults, the honors went to Johnny Landa and Sara Linsacum. Additionally, Tom Williams received a special award as the most experienced participant, running hard at age 68.
