Craig sports briefs: Adult soccer offered in Craig

Craig Adult Coed Indoor Soccer has been scheduled for the Boys & Girls Club of Craig, 1324 E. U.S. Highway 40.

Games start at 7 p.m. and will be played starting Sunday. Games also will be played Feb. 7 and 28, and March 7 and 14.

Players 14 years old and older can play soccer for $2 per session, with only shin guards and tennis shoes required.

Weekend hockey games

The Moffat County Bulldogs varsity and junior varsity hockey teams will each play two games this weekend, starting Friday.

The junior varsity team will play at 8:15 p.m. Friday, when they play the Vernal, Utah junior varsity team, in Vernal. The team will then play at 9:45 p.m. against the Payson (Utah) Midgets.

The varsity squad will play at 6 p.m. Saturday against Telluride at the Moffat County Ice Arena, 600 S. Ranney St. The two teams will match up again at 7:45 p.m., also at the Ice Arena.

Wrestling in Meeker

At 6 p.m. today, the boys varsity wrestling team compete against Meeker High School, 550 School St.

It will be the last meet before the Feb. 5 and 6 All-League Tournament in Rifle.

Hoops teams on road

The Moffat County High School boys and girls varsity basketball teams will continue their recent road trip today when they visit Battle Mountain.

The girls (6-9 overall, 4-2 in the Western Slope League) are coming off Tuesday's 45-34 loss in Steamboat Springs, while the Huskies (0-16 overall, 0-7 in the WSL) have struggled this season.

The two teams will play at 5:30 p.m. at Battle Mountain High School, 151 Miller Ranch Road in Edwards.

The MCHS boys team (3-12 overall, 1-5 in the WSL) also fell Tuesday in Steamboat Springs, while the Huskies (6-7 overall, 2-5 in the WSL) won Tuesday in Eagle Valley.

Starting at 4 p.m. Saturday, the girls varsity team will play at league-leading Rifle, 1350 Prefontaine Ave., in Rifle.

The boys team will face the Bears at 7:30 p.m.
