Craig Concert series concludes with roots band Link Union

Craig Daily Press Staff Report

The family group Link Union, shown, will perform Friday night at Moffat County High School as the final show of the season for the Craig Concert Association 2014-15 season. The band is from the Ozark region of Missouri and plays American roots music in addition to a wide range of genres.

The last show of the season for the Craig Concert Association will be a family event in more ways than one.

Link Union will wrap up the CCA's season with a show at 7 p.m. Friday at the Moffat County High School auditorium, 900 Finley Lane.

The group hails from the Ozark Mountains of Missouri and consists of eight members of the Link clan, complete with 16 instruments. Their repertoire focuses strongly on the roots of American music and also includes country, rock, gospel and other disciplines "to take people on journeys through different feelings and experiences with music," as described by Rachel Link, stage manager and frontwoman.

She added that playing in Craig will be the Colorado debut for the ensemble, which has passed through the state many times but has never gotten the chance to perform until now.

"It's going to be exciting to be playing mountain music in some really big mountains," Link laughed.

The show is free to those with season tickets or $20 at the door for adults, $10 for students. For more information, visit craigconcerts.org or call 970-824-3396.
