Craig Briefs: Upcoming banquet to include auctions

Ducks Unlimited will host a banquet Dec. 5 at the Holiday Inn of Craig, 300 S. Colorado Highway 13. Social hour and games will begin at 4 p.m., with dinner slated for 6 p.m. A live and silent auction will follow.

Items up for auction include several guns, a Labrador puppy, a sporting clay shoot for four people, art and gift items.

Medicare workshop slated for Dec. 2

Local organizations are presenting a free workshop Dec. 2 in Maybell for seniors enrolled in Medicare Part D.

The workshop is scheduled for 2:30 to 4 p.m. at the Maybell School. It will cover Medicare Part D (prescription) Plan and Medicare Health Plan updates.

Participants can make changes to their current plans through Dec. 31.

Attendees should take their Medicare card and prescriptions.

The Moffat and Routt counties Council on Aging, Colorado Northwestern Community College, and the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association's Aging Well Program are sponsoring the event.

Salvation Army seeking volunteers

The Salvation Army's Craig Service Extension Unit is looking for as many as 100 people to volunteer as bell ringers this holiday season. The annual kettle drive begins Friday, the day after Thanksgiving.

The Salvation Army is hoping to have three kettles — outside City Market, Walmart and Kmart. Half- or full-day shifts are available. Hours for a full shift are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Craig coffee party meeting Saturday

The Craig coffee party is scheduled to meet from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday in the back room at Serendipity Coffee Shop, 576 Yampa Ave.

Topic of discussion will be the Nov. 2 general election.

Anyone is welcome to attend.
