Craig briefs: Seedling tree orders being accepted
January 16, 2010
Colorado First Conservation District now is taking orders from the public for seedling trees.
Seedling trees "are a great way to establish a living snow fence or a windbreak," the First Conservation District reported in a news release.
To receive seedling trees, you must own two acres or more of land. Many varieties are available.
Order forms may be picked up at the Colorado State University extension office, the BLM or the CFCD office at 145 Commerce St.
The deadline to order is April 15. Trees will be available for pickup in early May.

Parents can claim lost items at CMS
Craig Middle School principal Bill Toovey invites parents of students to look through the lost-and-found to claim their student's items during today's home basketball game.
Toovey said he usually donates lost-and-found items to the Community Budget Center after a period of time, but with the large number of jackets, gloves and other items, he wanted to give parents another chance to claim lost belongings.
The lost-and-found will be located at the south entrance and will be made available starting at 9:15 a.m. at CMS, 915 Yampa Ave.
Parents should bring their student's school identification card so CMS can log claimed items, Toovey said.
Toovey also would like to remind parents and guests to park in the north parking lot for all home basketball games.
