Craig briefs: New Editorial Board members wanted

The Craig Daily Press is seeking three or four people to participate on its next Editorial Board, which begins July 1.
Editorial Board members meet from noon to 1 p.m. Mondays to discuss the newspaper's opinion pieces for its Wednesday and Saturday editions.
Board terms last three months.
A wide variety of candidates for board positions are desired.

Suicide prevention training set for Craig
Reaching Everyone Preventing Suicide presents ASIST Gatekeeper Training on Aug. 5 and 6 at the Moffat County Public Safety Center, 800 W. First St.
ASIST stands for Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training.
The workshop is designed to give participants knowledge and skills to help them know how to intervene when they fear someone might be at risk for suicide.
Participants will learn to recognize suicide and depression warning signs, apply a model for intervention and how to link people with community resources.
The workshop lasts from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Aug. 5 and 6 and is offered free of charge.
Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided. Donations are accepted.

Health care expert makes visit to Craig
The Craig Chamber of Commerce has invited Elizabeth Arenales, a health care expert and attorney with the Colorado Center of Law and Policy, to speak with the public about the effects of health care reform, the implementation timeline and what it means for businesses.
The presentation is scheduled for 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Craig City Hall, 300 W. Fourth St.
The presentation is free. RSVPs are required.
