Craig briefs: Moffat County Road 35 to be closed temporarily

The Moffat County Road Department temporarily will be closing Moffat County Road 35 at the intersection of Colorado Highway 394 and C.R. 35 for about one-half mile beginning Monday. Local traffic south of the culvert will have to access to C.R. 35 via C.R. 33 and 206. For more information, call 970-824-3211.

Free cardiovascular screenings at the VNA

The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association in Craig will provide free cardiovascular screenings by appointment from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday at 745 Russell St. Screenings include: total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides, blood glucose and body mass index. Back-to-School Night planned at schools

Moffat County High School will host a Back-to-School Night from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the school. Craig Middle School’s Back-to-School Night is slated for the same night from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The first day of school is Aug. 26.

Business Center Advisory Team needs members

The Craig Moffat Economic Development Partnership is accepting applications for candidates to serve on our volunteer Business Incubator Center Advisory Team, according to a news release.

The purpose: The Business Center provides resources for business owners and entrepreneurs to successfully develop their project or business idea.

An Advisory Team Member is expected to:

■ Attend monthly meetings that are one hour during the workday

■ Serve on committees, as developed

■ Provide Business Center development ideas

■ Advise CMEDP Board of Directors on oversight of Business Center program operations and implementation of Business Center.

■ Offer guidance on long-range planning for Business Incubator Center, evaluating goals and objectives for the organization and all staff members serving the Business Incubator Center.

■ Serve as a good will ambassador to the community by publicizing progress and recognizing those who support our economic development initiatives.

Qualifications necessary:

Craig Moffat Economic Development Partnership on behalf of the Marianna Raftopoulos Business Incubator Center seeks community members who believe in and want to encourage the economic development efforts of the Business Center for Moffat County. In addition, individuals with administrative, small business, financial, public relations or leadership backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Class of 1973 to hold reunion this weekend

The Class of 1973 is having their 40th class reunion Friday through Sunday. Participants meet at 6 p.m. Friday for a welcome luau at JW Snacks. A barbecue will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 779 Taylor St., and at 6 p.m. a dinner buffet will be served at the Holiday Inn of Craig. Live music will be on hand. Reunion patrons meet again at 10 a.m. Sunday for breakfast at O.P. Bar & Grill.
