Craig Briefs: Hunter safety class set for next month

The Colorado Division of Wildlife will sponsor a weeklong hunter safety class beginning at 6 p.m. Oct. 4 at Bears Ears Sportsman Club's Cedar Mountain Range.
Class size is limited. Online course completion can be arranged.

Homeschool group plans potluck
The Northwest Colorado Homeschool Association is hosting its fall kick-off potluck at 6 p.m. today at the Moffat County Fairgrounds picnic area.
The Christian association welcomes anyone who homeschools or is interested in homeschooling to attend the event. Attendees should take a main dish and side or dessert.

Fall trek planned for Sept. 26
The Little Snake River Museum and the Little Snake River Valley Education Center will host the 16th annual historical and educational fall trek from Slater, Wyo., to Hayden later this month.
The trek is scheduled for Sept. 26, with an 8 a.m. departure from Baggs (Wyo.) Town Hall and an 8:30 a.m. departure from the old Slater (Wyo.) Store.
Participants should provide their own transportation, lunch, water and chairs.
The 70-mile route will follow Moffat County Road #1 to Whispering Pines, and then travel on Routt County Road 82 through Slater Park and California Park to Hayden.
The trek is free, but organizers ask that those interested RSVP to the Education Center at (307) 383-6861.

Constitution focus of tea party meeting
A tea party meeting to celebrate citizenship and Constitution Day is scheduled to take place at 6:30 p.m. today at American Legion Post 62, 1055 Moffat County Road 7. Visitors will be able to "learn about the 28 principles the U.S. Constitution was written under," according to a news release.
