Craig briefs: Craig Kiwanis Club offers scholarships

The Craig Kiwanis Club has 2010 scholarships available, the club announced Monday in a news release.

This year, the club expects to award about $9,500 in scholarships to Moffat County High School graduates.

To be eligible, applicants must be a current or past MCHS graduate, have parents who reside in Moffat County, and has been accepted or enrolled in an accredited university, college, business school or vocational school.

Scholarship recipients will be chosen based upon demonstrated leadership qualities, community involvement, academic achievement and financial need, the Kiwanis Club reported.

Prior scholarship winners and applicants are encouraged to submit new applications.

Applications are available at MCHS, Colorado Northwestern Community College or by contacting Jeff Corriveau at Craig Ford, 801 W. Victory Way.

Immunization clinic hosted Wednesday

The Northwest Colo­rado Visiting Nurse Association will offer a drop-in immunization clinic for middle and high school students from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Moffat County High School, 900 Finley Lane.

Immunizations include Tdap and Menactra. Parents should bring their child's immunization record to the clinic and must be present if their child is younger than 18.

The VNA charges a sliding scale up to $14 per shot for anyone younger than 19.

Census Assist Center is open until April 19

The Census Assist Center will be open five days a week in Craig until April 19.

Residents may visit the center with questions regarding the Census. Information is available in English and Spanish.

The center will be open from 2 to 5 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at the Moffat County School District administrative building, 775 Yampa Ave., and 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at Moffat County Social Services, 595 Breeze St.
