Craig briefs: Children’s book signing is Saturday

Downtown Books plans to host a book signing for local author Laura Tyler's new work, "The Story of Little Beaky Robin," from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday.

The story is readable to ages 10 and older, and includes many photographs of Little Beaky Robin while the bird lived with the author.

Downtown Books is at 543 Yampa Ave. in downtown Craig.

Sen. Bennet staff to appear in Steamboat

Todd Hagenbuch, regional representative for U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet, plans to host "Conversations with Coloradans" next week in Steamboat Springs.

The event will be a town hall meeting designed to allow residents to communicate with Bennet and his staff, or inquire about help dealing with federal agencies.

2nd annual parade takes place Saturday

A tour of local museums will take place Saturday starting at the Wyman Museum, 94350 U.S. Highway 40.

The tour of Northwest Colorado centers of culture and heritage and will last until 4 p.m. Participants will be treated to a light brunch, snacks and cider.

Tickets are $15 and $10 for seniors and are available at Wyman Museum, Museum of Northwest Colorado and Colorado Northwest Community College.

Cardio assessments are available Friday

Free cardiovascular assessments, including full cholesterol panel, glucose levels and body mass indexes, will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 18 at the Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association in Craig, 745 Russell St. Call 819-1771 to make an appointment.

Humane Society will meet today

The monthly Humane Society of Moffat County meeting will be at 6 p.m. today at the Golden Cavvy Restaurant, 538 Yampa Ave. It is open to the public. For more information, call Ann at 826-2717.
