Meeting for ranchers at 6 p.m. Wednesday
The Colorado First Conservation District is sponsoring a herd quitter meeting from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Moffat County Fairgrounds. The meeting is free and open to the public.
Herd quitter is a term coined by Kit Pharo of the Pharo Cattle Co. to describe ranchers who are "willing to think outside the box and embrace unconventional, high-output, sustainable agriculture," according to a news release from the Conservation District.
"Kit believes that ranching should be both profitable and enjoyable," the news release reported. "Kit will be presenting an innovative approach to ranchers on grazing, calving and cow size."
