— The Church of Destiny, a nonprofit organization in Craig, is giving away a 1993 Mercury Villager minivan to a deserving family.

Pastor Parrish Terry said the van is being offered as is and said that despite its age, it is a dependable vehicle.

“We just drove it down and back to Denver, and it was averaging about 25 miles to the gallon,” Terry said. “It’ll be a dependable vehicle for a deserving family.”

Residents can apply for the van by sending Terry a short letter explaining their need for a dependable vehicle. Letters should be sent to 1352 N. Yampa Ave., Craig, CO 81625 or dropped in the offering box during church hours from 10 a.m. to noon Sundays at the Boys & Girls Club of Craig, 1324 E. U.S. Highway 40.

Terry plans to give away the van after church services on Mother’s Day on May 12. The winner must be present in order to win, Terry said.

The deadline to apply is May 8, and applicants must have a valid driver’s license to be eligible.

For more information, call Terry at 970-824-4486.
