Campbell named general manager of Craig Daily Press

Craig Daily Press Staff Report

— Craig resident Renee Campbell has been named the general manager of the Craig Daily Press. She starts Monday.

Campbell replaces Bryce Jacobson, who served the newspaper as its publisher for seven years before accepting a position in February as director of revenue at the Greeley Tribune.

As general manger of the Daily Press, Campbell will oversee all business functions at the newspaper including the advertising and circulation departments as well as The Print Shop. The Daily Press continues its search for a managing editor to oversee the news department.

Campbell previously served as the newspaper’s director of advertising from March 2007 through March 2010. Most recently, she worked as the director of sales and marketing at the Holiday Inn of Craig.

“I’m excited to be rejoining the Craig Daily Press,” Campbell said. “I enjoyed my tenure as advertising director and am ready for the challenges that lie ahead.

“I have a passion for this community, and I believe the newspaper should be a passionate community partner.”

Campbell has lived in Craig for seven years and is involved in numerous civic endeavors. She is president-elect of the Rotary Club of Craig and vice president of the Craig Chamber of Commerce and Moffat County Visitors Center. She serves on the board of directors for Yampa Valley Data Partners, serves on the Human Resource Council Allocations Committee and recently joined the board of the Northwest Colorado Workforce Commission.

Campbell and her husband, Jim, have five kids ranging in age from 16 to 29.

“We are excited to have been able to recruit someone with such deep and sustained connections to Craig to serve in the general manager’s role,” said Scott Stanford, who served as the newspaper’s general manager in an interim capacity. “Renee was an excellent advertising director in her previous tenure, and we are thrilled to have her back.”

Campbell said her first order of business will be meeting with key advertisers to gain feedback on how the newspaper can better meet their needs. Anyone with questions or feedback for Campbell can reach her by calling 970-875-1788 or emailing rcampbell@CraigDailyPress.com
