With winter fading and spring trying to arrive, the town of Dinosaur is getting back into action.
The Canyon Area Visitor Center of Dinosaur National Monument opened April 15, and the park's Harpers Corner Road opened last week.
And, starting Friday, visitors to the city will be able to get a shake, sandwich or other treats before heading to the monument when BedRock Depot opens.
The Depot's hours will be from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Dinosaur resident Leona Hemmerich, who co-owns the store with Bill Mitchem, said the store is one of the best places for visitors to get information on the monument.
The store has homemade ice cream and milkshakes, a variety of sandwiches and coffee drinks, and souvenirs.
Visitors this weekend will be able to take advantage of two deals for the season's opening, Hemmerich said.
Guests will get a free cinnamon roll with any purchase over $5, and a free BedRock Depot mug with any coffee or hot chocolate purchase.
The store will also be selling copies of Hemmerich and Mitchem's "Harpers Corner Road Guide" CD, a driving tour through the Colorado side of the monument.
BedRock Depot, located at 214 Brontosaurus Blvd., can be reached at 374-2336.
Black Dog moves to new location

The shop is retaining all the same products and services.

Area restaurants raising money for CASA
There's a simple way to help Moffat County Court Appointed Special Advocates on Tuesday — just eat.
For the second week in a row, several local restaurants will be donating a portion of the evening's proceeds to the volunteer organization, which helps guide children through the local court system.
Help CASA by eating at one of the participating restaurants: the Golden Cavvy, Carelli's Pizzeria & Pasta, Wendy's, Pizza Hut and Casa Loya.
