Burglary suspect arrested
Coalin Hume taken into custody in connection with local burglaries
August 5, 2001
The second suspect wanted in connection with a string of burglaries in Craig during a three day spree beginning May 16 has been arrested. TNT Custom Body and Paint, Eaton Auto, Ken Meyer Auto, Mountain Meats and a private residence were burglarized during that span. On June 15, Charles Weis III, 20, was arrested for the burglaries, and now his suspected accomplice, Coalin Hume, 19, has been captured.
A warrant for Hume had been issued in late June, but he had already fled the area. Hume was arrested on Tuesday in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on a warrant for conspiracy to commit burglary and accessory to forgery. Hume will be extradited to Moffat County.
“In a felony case like this, we’ll extradite someone pretty much from anywhere in the country, depending on the crime,” said Craig Police Department Administrative Sgt. Henry Stoffel.
“We believe there was no one else involved in these crimes.”
