Briefs: July 17

The Yampa Valley chorus of Sweet Adelines International hosts a fundraising garage sale on Saturday.

The sale will run from 8 a.m. until members tear down at the Poznet parking lot, 820 Victory Way.

Sweet Adelines is a non-profit international organization of female singers dedicated to advancing the form of barbershop music through education and performance.

The chorus received third place for small chorus and showmanship award at the regional competition in April in Colorado Springs.

All proceeds from the sale go to the general fund to help pay for costuming, scholarships and coaching.

The group is accepting donations for the sale, and is accepting new singers interested in performing with Sweet Adelines at parties, weddings, reunions, anniversaries, etc. They also offer singing telegrams. For more information on the group, or to donate sale items, call Ivy Davis at 824-5746.
