Briefs for Oct. 5, 2011: Bella Voce to host masquerade dinner

The Bella Voce Show Chorus presents its Masquerade Diva Dinner at 7 p.m. Oct. 14 at the Moffat County Fairgrounds Pavilion.
The event includes dinner, a dessert bar and a cabaret-style show, followed by dancing. Costumes are optional.
Tickets are $40 per person or $25 for students ages 25 and younger.

Today is Walk to School Day
Today is National Walk (or Bike) to School Day.
Children are encouraged to walk or ride their bikes to school today.

Variety show set for Friday
The monthly variety show is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4265, 419 E. Victory Way.
Performers include Steve Ghirardelli, Ray Cartwright and Bill Ronis.
Hens and Chicks to meet Friday
The Yampa Valley Hens and Chicks, a chapter of the Farmgirl Sisterhood, meets from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at St. Michael Catholic Church, 678 School St.
The meeting includes a potluck lunch. Take a pumpkin recipe to share.

Free crochet lessons offered
Free crochet classes are scheduled through the end of the year, with a different project the focus each month.
Classes will be offered from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday and Oct. 21, Nov. 4 and 18, and Dec. 2 and 16.
Classes take place at 655 Ranney St.

DAR set to meet Saturday afternoon
