A free car care clinic for single mothers, seniors and disabled residents is scheduled for 8 a.m. to noon Dec. 10 at Cook Chevrolet, 1776 W. Victory Way.
Car care clinic staffers will check all fluids and top them off, if needed; test anti-freeze; air up tires and check treads; and check lights, battery connections, horns, wipers and belts.
Staffers can also arrange for discounted repairs and oil changes, if possible.
The clinic is by appointment only and is a project by a small group from The Journey at First Baptist.

Social Services to distribute USDA food
The Moffat County Department of Social Services will distribute United States Department of Agriculture food supplements this month.

Food will be distributed from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Maybell Community Center, and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Moffat County office in Dinosaur.

Library closed for Thanksgiving holiday
All branches of the Moffat County Libraries will be closed Thursday, Friday and Nov. 26 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Parade of Lights set for Saturday
Parade of Lights is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday.
The parade is sponsored by the Craig Lions Club and the Downtown Business Association. The parade will travel from Craig Middle School south of Yampa Avenue, turning west on Victory Way and then turning north of Ledford Street.
The parade does not have a specific theme this year. Those wishing to enter the parade competition can pick up a form at the Community Budget Center. Other float entries can arrive at the staging area prior to the parade.

Insurance agency hosting food drive
Bob Johnson State Farm Agency is hosting a food drive to benefit Interfaith Food Bank.
Nonperishable food and monetary donations will continue to be collected at the insurance office, 690 W. Victory Way, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The deadline for Christmas donations is Dec. 16.

Nativity display seeking contributions
Organizers of the Interfaith Community Nativity Display, scheduled for Dec. 1 to 3, are accepting contributions of nativity sets.
The event will run from 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 1 and 2 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 3 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1295 W. Ninth St.
The public is invited to view the display.

CMS hosts food drive through Dec. 9
A canned food drive takes place at Craig Middle School, 915 Yampa Ave., through Dec. 9.
The drive is open to students and community members, and cash donations also will be accepted. Canned food and donations can be dropped off at the CMS front office during regular school hours.
Middle school students can earn $1 off the entry fee to Friday's CMS school dance by bringing in two cans of food for the drive.
Last year, the school collected about 1,800 cans of food, CMS social studies teacher Justin Folley wrote in an email.
"Any kind of community support would be greatly appreciated," he added.

MCHS hosting food drive
A food drive will take place at Moffat County High School through Nov. 30.
The event is open to students and community members, and all donations will go toward the KRAI Holiday Drive. Nonperishable food items can be dropped off at the high school, 900 Finley Lane.
Students in the third-hour class that collects the most food will be rewarded with a breakfast.

VNA hosts Celebration of Life
The Northwest Colorado Visiting Nurse Association is hosting the fifth annual Celebration of Life Tree event on Dec. 15 at the VNA, 745 Russell St.
The event includes ornament decorating in memory of a loved one at 4:30 p.m. and a reading and story-sharing at 5:15 p.m. Ornaments will be placed on the tree and can be taken home after the holidays.
Refreshments will be served. Ornaments and decorations will be provided.
