Briefs for June 13: Community Bible study on Thursdays

A community Bible study takes place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Thursday.

Last pre-farmers market meeting

Thursday The last pre-market meeting for Craig Farmers Market venders will take place from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Downtown Books, 543 Yampa Ave.



Weather permitting, the meeting will adjourn and reconvene in Alice Pleasant Park to review the market layout.

The first farmers market is from noon to 6 p.m. June 21.

Interested venders are encouraged to attend the meeting.

Book club meets Thursday

The Craig Book Club will meet at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at 657 Green St. Participants are asked to bring a salad to share.

Members will vote on book selections for next season’s meetings, which begin in September at a location yet to be finalized.

The club does not meet in July or August.

Commitment to Excellence meets Friday

Maximum Commitment to Excellence, a group designed to augment local education, meets at 11:30 a.m. at Mountain West Insurance and Financial Services, 100 E. Victory Way.

At least three Moffat County School Board members are scheduled to attend the meeting, although they do not have a formal agenda nor do they plan to take action at the meeting, Superintendent Joe Petrone said.
