Briefs for July 1, 2011: Fundraising teen dance set for tonight

The Thunder Cheer team is hosting a Fourth of July teen dance tonight.

The dance runs from 7 to 11 p.m. today at Gymstar Fun 'N Fit Gymnastics, 315 Tucker St.

Those ages 12 to 18 are invited.

The cost is $5 per person and all proceeds benefit the Thunder Cheer team.

The Craig Variety Show is scheduled for 7 p.m. today at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4265, 419 E. Victory Way.

Second Chance Saturday slated

The Humane Society of Moffat County is offering Second Chance Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon July 9 at the Craig Animal Shelter, 2430 E. Victory Way.

The event features reduced cost adoptions at $60.

The organization plans to offer this event monthly.

Pizza Hut hosts fundraiser school

Sunset Elementary School is having a fundraiser with the Craig Pizza Hut, 1070 W. Victory Way, on July 14.

A portion of sales throughout the day will be donated to the school if customers indicate that they would like to contribute to the fundraiser.

The offer is valid on dine-in carryout or delivery.

Relay for Life hosts dinner fundraisers

Yampa Valley Relay for Life is hosting a series of fundraisers at Vallarta's Mexican Restaurant in Centennial Mall, 1111 W. Victory Way.

Every Monday evening through July 11, a team involved in Relay for Life will receive 25 percent of the night's sales.
