Medicare presentation Tuesday
A presentation on Medicare will take place from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Colorado Northwestern Community College's Bell Tower Building, 50 College Dr.
The presentation will review options available to new Medicare recipients and what is covered under Medicare.
Betsy Packer, a Medicare counselor for the Routt County Council on Aging, will give the presentation and will allow time for individuals to visit with her one-on-one afterward.
The event is open to everyone near 65 years old who has questions about Medicare, as well as caregivers to someone going onto Medicare.
The Moffat County Council on Aging and CNCC are sponsoring the presentation.

State of the County Friday
The annual State of the County address will take place at 6 p.m. Friday at the Holiday Inn of Craig, 300 S. Colorado Highway 13.
The event will include presentations on the state of Moffat County, the City of Craig and the Craig Chamber of Commerce. State Sen. Jean White, R-Hayden, the event's keynote speaker, will give an address on the state of Colorado.
Tickets are available at the Craig Chamber of Commerce, 360 E. Victory Way. The cost is $40 for Chamber members and $50 for non-members.
The ticket price includes dinner and dessert.

School board tutorials
The Moffat County School District administration building, 775 Yampa Ave., will be the host site for school board tutorials for new and returning board members in February and March.
The meetings are open to the public.
All meetings take place at 1 p.m. in the boardroom at the administration building.
The dates of the meetings and the scheduled topics are as follows:
• Feb. 27: home school
• March 5: English-language learners
• March 12: student services program components

Chili cook-off Saturday
The second annual Chili Challenge will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Colorado Northwestern Community College's Craig campus, 2801 W. Ninth St.
Attendees must enter the east door by the steps.
The chili cook-off is put on by the college's student government and includes divisions for red, green and white chili. Prizes will be awarded for first and second place in all divisions.
Competitors pay $4 to enter the event.
The cook-off includes all-you-can-eat chili and is open to the public. Admittance costs $6 per person, $10 per couple and $15 per family.
