Briefs for Feb. 21, 2011: Aquatics class moves to inn

The Colorado Visiting Nurse Association/Aging Well program has moved its aquatics class to the Hampton Inn & Suites, 377 Cedar Court.

The class takes place from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Mondays. The cost is $32 for an eight-week session, or $6 for drop-ins.

Vallarta's hosting fundraiser tonight

Vallarta's Mexican Restaurant is hosting a fundraiser tonight for Landon Hatcher.

Hatcher is a 10-month-old from Craig who was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. His family does not have health insurance.

Vallarta's is donating 25 percent of the profits from 5 to 9 p.m. to the family.

Vallarta's is located in Centennial Mall, 1111 W. Victory Way.

Library board meeting tonight

All branches of the Moffat County Libraries are closed today in observance of President's Day, according to a news release from the library. All branches will reopen Tuesday.

However, the Craig branch, 570 Green St., will host the monthly library board meeting at 5:30 p.m. tonight. The meeting is open to the public.

State offices closed today

Many state offices will be closed today in observance of President's Day.

According to a news release from Gov. John Hickenlooper's office, state driver's license offices, the Department of Public Health and Environment's vital records office, state history museums, the Attorney General's office, Division of Wildlife Service Centers, and administrative offices for executive branch departments will be among the facilities closed.

State troopers will be patrolling the highways and the Department of Transportation snow plows and maintenance crews will be working as necessary.
