Briefs for August 3, 3011: Traffic lights’ cycle changes in Craig

Chief Walt Vanatta of the Craig Police Department reported the Colorado Department of Transportation has made changes to traffic lights in Craig.
No longer will the lights switch to flash mode between midnight and 6 a.m. Rather, the traffic lights will cycle between green, yellow and red lights all day and night.

Fuller Center to host yard sale
The Fuller Center for Housing will host a fundraising yard sale at 9 a.m. Saturday at 836 W. Victory Way, the barn next to Brass Key Realty.
The sale will benefit the center's demolition project on Yampa Avenue.
Donations, except for clothing, are accepted through 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Brass Key Realty.

Humane Society to host calendar voting
The Humane Society of Moffat County will host public voting, by donation, for the 2012 Pet Mates Calendar from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Farmer's Market at Alice Pleasant Park in downtown Craig.

New students asked to do paperwork
In an effort to expedite Moffat County High School registration and required state documentation, Delaine Brown at MCHS invites new students and parents to the high school and complete required paperwork.
Students may visit Brown between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. beginning Thursday in the administration office on the second floor of the high school, 900 Finley Lane.
At that time, an appointment will be made to meet with a school counselor to develop the student's class schedule.
Hens and Chicks will not meet this month
The Yampa Valley Hens and Chicks, a local chapter of the Farmgirl Sisterhood, will not be meeting in August due to participation in the Moffat County Fair.
The Hens and Chicks will meet next in September for a presentation about canning.
