Briefs for April 16, 2011: Dine out for CASA

A portion of the proceeds from the Golden Cavvy, Carelli's, Casa Loya, Wendy's or Pizza Hut on Tuesday night and April 26 will be donated to Moffat County Court Appointed Special Advocates, a local volunteer organization that guides children through the court system.

CASA encourages community members to dine at one of the establishments to help support the group.

Concert to benefit Jane Milligan

Blue Rooster will perform a benefit concert for Jane Milligan at 6 p.m. today at The Center of Craig, 601 Yampa Ave.

Tickets are $12 and a barbecue sandwich and drink is included.

Putt-putt tourney set for today

The annual putt-putt golf tourney hosted by three local bars is scheduled for today.

The event begins at 1 p.m. at Mathers Bar, 420 Yampa Ave., and continues at J.W. Snack's and The Popular Bar. Participants putt three holes at each location.

The cost is $20 per four-member team.

Registration forms are available at any of the participating locations.

Spring Bazaar and Bake Sale today

The Ladies Mite Society will host its Spring Bazaar and Bake Sale from 9 a.m. to noon today at Craig Christian Church, 960 W. Victory Way.

Homemade cinnamon rolls and coffee will be for sale.

The Marlins to perform Sunday

The Craig Concert Association presents The Marlins at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Moffat County High School auditorium, 900 Finley Lane.

The band will play more than 20 instruments while showcasing the music of Broadway, Bach and The Beatles.

"The Marlins have entertained audiences all over the U.S. and Canada for over 25 years, and we bet you've never heard a group of entertainers quite like them," according to a news release from the concert association.

The concert is free to association members or $20 at the door.
