BLM seeking comment on permit application
March 4, 2010
The Bureau of Land Management's Little Snake Field Office is seeking public comment on an application for a new commercial special recreation permit for big-game outfitting and guiding on BLM lands in Northwest Colorado.
Wildcat Ranch has applied to conduct big-game hunting guiding and outfitting on public lands in game management units 1, 2, 3, 10, 11, 201, 211 and 301 within the Little Snake Field Office throughout the big-game hunting season annually from August through December, according to a BLM news release.
The BLM issues commercial SRPs to provide recreation businesses the opportunity to operate on BLM public lands, provide the public the opportunity to use a guided service for recreation activities, and to ensure a fair return to the public for commercial use on public lands, according to the release.
The BLM accepts public comments on SRP renewals and new applications to help ensure applicants will operate within federal and state regulations, as well as the terms and conditions of their BLM permit.
The BLM is accepting public comments on the application for a new permit through March 26.
