Avalanche to honor Craig Youth Hockey
December 3, 2009
The Avalanche Youth Skater program has invited Craig Youth Hockey to be represented at the Feb. 12, 2010, Colorado Avalanche game against the Phoenix Coyotes in Denver.
One nominated skater from the Craig Youth Hockey program will lead the Avalanche onto the ice and stay with the team during the singing of the national anthem.
Craig Youth Hockey coaches from each level will nominate two players who display a positive attitude, leadership abilities and community involvement.
After all the nominations have been collected, anonymous forms can be dropped off to the Moffat County Commission office, in the basement floor of the Moffat County Courthouse, 221 W. Victory Way, to select one player.
The Craig Youth Hockey Association and nominated skater will be introduced during the game.
The Colorado Avalanche will provide discounted tickets to allow more community participation in the event.
Tickets that cost $102 have been marked down to $35 per seat, and $15 from each ticket sold will be donated back to the Craig Youth Hockey program.
Money from the ticket sales will be used to offset tournament costs and purchase new equipment and jerseys.
Ticket sales will start Saturday and end Dec. 18.
Make checks payable to Craig Youth Hockey.
