Annual Craig kettle campaign nets record donations
December 27, 2011
Craig and Moffat County community members "freely opened their pockets again this holiday season and filled Salvation Army kettles with record donations," the Salvation Army's Craig Service Extension Unit reported in a news release.
The community contributed more than $12,000 during the kettle drive, volunteers reported.
Volunteer ringers worked kettles at Walmart, City Market and Kmart during weekends from Nov. 25 through Dec. 24.
"Without their help, the campaign could not happen," the Craig Service Extension Unit reported in the release.
"The annual kettle campaign is the only fundraiser that the local Service Extension Unit does each year," said LuAnn Kline, a Service Extension Unit officer, in the release. "Monies donated in Moffat County stay in Moffat County to help individuals and families through hard times."
