25 Shades of Craig: Snow Days and your inner child
October 30, 2012
Have you ever wondered what happened to your inner child?
The one that use to get excited about bubbles, ice cream, fireworks, staying up late or first snow fall of the season.
Last week when that first snowfall hit I remember thinking about how cold it was outside, having to get up earlier to get my daughter to school and my least favorite part, shoveling. My daughter on the other hand was so excited to get home so that she could put on her snow clothes to run outside to play.
For a moment I was annoyed because we had an appointment to be at in little less than an hour and she needed to change and eat before we left. After looking down at her cute little face I gave in.
I told her to hurry up and go make a snow angel. She was so excited that after making a few snow angels she came inside and was freezing and ecstatic.
I can get so wrapped up in everything going on around me that I forget how it feels to be a child. I have forgotten how to take a minute and remember what it was like to be her age and have a snow day.
So take that minute to let all your worries and cares fall away and to just enjoy being a child again. It not only let's you get in touch with your inner child; it also helps you get in touch with your child.
So if you are ever see me running and jumping onto a shopping cart with my daughter that is my inner child coming out to play with my child. Kids have more fun, anyway.
