I'm moving to Hayden

February seemed shorter to me this year maybe because I have been on the go more than usual. Whatever the reason the month is gone and it appears that March is going to come “in like a lion” blown in by the cold winds, so hopefully it will go out like a lamb. Then again it could fool me and be a nice mild time of sunny warm days with lazy clouds slowly winding their way across the blue sky. Some places I passed through on my way home last month were showing signs of green already. Rivers were not quite at peak but had a good amount of water in them, which made me think that it was melting up in the high country already. The snows that arrived this past week has probably put an end to that for a little while anyway and added much needed moisture. Winds that are just a shade past brisk also let us know that winter isn’t done with us yet. I enjoy the changes in weather and it does to the colors, smells and textures of places around us.

Speaking of changes, I will be making some life changes myself this week to better my quality of life. I am moving to the Haven, which is an assisted living facility in Hayden. I feel it is time for me to be somewhere I can get more assistance with daily routines so I can get stronger and enjoy life more. I’m looking forward to sharing with you, in the Spotlight, all the things I discover when I’m looking out new windows that add to my collection of places I have been and things I have seen. A new adventure awaits me as I make new friends and renew old friendships with those who I’ve met before. It will be interesting to discover what others have been through in their lives and their points of view on all different types of subjects. Although I will visit Craig often to see family, I will miss living at Sunset Meadows, which has been my home for many, many years. Yet I believe it’s meant for me to be at this place at this point in my life and collect all the new patches to weave into the tapestry that makes up my life story.

Each of our lives is made up of a tapestry of memories we hold dear, and even some that are painful, but they are what made us who we are today. The mixture of happiness and sadness is woven together in shades of bright and dark colors to make a tapestry that is unique to each person. No matter what we all have in common our pattern is ours alone and the amount of color in it depends on the journey of our lives and how we deal with what life handed us. Live life so that the bright colors outweigh the dark ones in your tapestry.
