The highest honors for Moffat County High School basketball players this season had one name in common, one which has popped up regularly in the region’s sports through the years — Camilletti.

MCHS senior Joe Camilletti was selected All-State Second Team in the 3A division as announced Wednesday in a list compiled by Colorado High School Activities Association, Colorado Preps Network and MaxPreps.

Votes were tallied based on nominations from leagues across the state and voted on by coaches.

The Bulldog hoopster was the leading scorer for Moffat County with 365 total points across 24 games, averaging 15.2 per game hitting a high of 28 in two separate January games. He also led the team in total assists (70) and tied with teammate Tyler Davis for steals (63).

Joe was honored at the end of the season as Academic All-State First Team, as well as receiving a distinction for more than 1,000 career points. He was also named All-Conference First Team along with Davis, Matt Hamilton, Dylan Kincade and Honorable Mention Denton Taylor.

Joe wasn’t the only one with his surname to receive some recognition after the season.

Though none of the Lady Bulldogs were selected for All-State, Leah Camilletti received the acknowledgement of the 3A Western Slope League Player of the Year in March.

Leah, a junior, was also her team’s highest scorer, picking up 346 points in 27 games that also included the only appearance by a WSL team in the 3A state quarterfinals, averaging 12.8 per game — ranking second in the league — her season peak 24 points in three different games.

Leah also led Moffat County girls in assists with 61 and made the All-Conference First Team list alongside teammates Morgan Lawton, Kayla Pinnt and Josey King and Honorable Mentions Katia Voloshin, Katelyn Peroulis and Mattie Jo Duzik.
