Marek Skupienski: Bad accident turned good
To the editor:
On Oct. 13, at 4:40 a.m., on U.S. Highway 40 a few miles east of Craig. All of a sudden, a collision. I am startled, though unharmed; the big, black bear is dead, lying in the middle of the road; my car is totaled. The police, the Colorado State Patrol and the DOW arrive shortly thereafter to confirm the obvious.
I call the roadside assistance to arrange for the towing of my car and realize that the aftermath promises to be perhaps even more difficult than the accident itself.
A few hours later, I report to the insurance agent’s office where Ms. Kaci Doolin expertly guides me through the intricate web of insurance rules and regulation. Thank you, Kaci. Without you I would have remained totally lost.
The next stage, finding a new vehicle, appears to be a daunting task. However, I had the good fortune of being directed to Steve Maneotis and his wonderful team of professionals at Victory Motors.
By mid-afternoon, Sandra, Craig and Jeremy presented me with several options. Relying on Steve’s expertise, I made my final choice and my new ride is expeditiously delivered the next day.
I am left with a sense of deep gratitude for these individuals doing their jobs in a most professional and considerate manner.
