Moffat County girls soccer was set to host Vail Mountain High School at 11 a.m. Saturday at Woodbury Sports Complex in a 3A Western Slope League game, but the game was rescheduled after weather got in the way.

A couple inches of snow covered the field in Craig on Saturday morning and the Colorado Department of Transportation closed Interstate 70 near Vail in all directions, as well.

It was the second straight home game to be postponed for the Bulldogs, who had a game against Grand Valley on Tuesday postponed to April 8 because of snow.

As of Saturday, there was no reschedule date or time set.

Weather also curbs baseball doubleheader in Parachute

Moffat County’s baseball team had a Western Slope League doubleheader Saturday at Grand Valley, with games set to begin in Parachute at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

But with snow still falling when the Bulldogs would have needed to leave Saturday in order to arrive on time, they had to cancel the trip. With moisture in the forecast for Parachute on Saturday, a rain or snow-out was likely anyway.

Coach Justin Folley said the games would be rescheduled but nothing had been set as of Saturday.
