The free annual event is a chance for people to learn more about the organization, which works with youths in Northwest Colorado. Young Life receives community donations year-round, but the banquet displays what people are putting their time and money toward and why it’s worthwhile to join the effort.

“It gives kids something to do besides just their normal stuff like classes,” said event organizer Caroline Dotson.

Dotson, committee chairperson for the banquet, added that director David Pressgrove’s work with local kids has been extensive recently.

“He’s really been awesome doing all the pep rallies at the high school and getting them involved,” she said.

This year’s banquet features a mashed potato bar leading into a plethora of delicious desserts, complete with a performance by magician Ty Gallenbeck as parents and community members learn more about Young Life.

Child care is also available during the banquet for young children at The Journey at First Baptist.
