Have you considered cross-training? Cross-training involves incorporating different types of exercises (walking, swimming, biking, resistance training) into your fitness routine. Cross-training can lead to workouts that are more fun and beneficial. Benefits of cross-training include: toning the entire body because of the variety of activities; increasing the likelihood of sticking with your exercise routine (avoiding burnout); having better preparation of muscles for new exercises; working more muscle groups throughout your body; and a reduced risk of overuse injury.
