If there’s no private party to attend on Super Bowl Sunday, Craig restaurants will have the locals looking for a great way to watch the game covered.

Many of the popular Sunday football destinations are ramping up their offerings in celebration of the NFL’s final game of the 2013-14 season, and the Denver Broncos’ chance at their first championship in 15 years.

Many restaurants will offer food and drink specials throughout the day, including Gino’s Pizzeria & Grill. The pizza joint will offer draft beer specials and have small cheese pizzas for $5 and large pizzas for $8.

At the O.P. Bar & Grill there will be an Italian buffet for $7, drink specials and free giveaways, said owner Delbert Knez.

“We’ll be giving a free, 24-inch SMART TV, free lodging for two days in Las Vegas and more gifts,” he said. “It should be a good place to watch the game if you’re not headed to a private party.”

J.W. Snacks Bar & Grill will also offer food and drink specials and do giveaways of “fabulous prizes,” said owner Danny Griffith. The major draw at the restaurant, though, will be the viewing experience on a big screen.

“I’ll be showing the big game on a 10-foot wide, high-def projection television. To my knowledge it will be the largest picture in town,” he said.

The Popular Bar said it is planning on having green chili available for patrons, while Mathers is planning a special potluck meal in which people can bring their own dishes to contribute while enjoying the game.

"We'll be making sandwiches and chili and anyone who wants to bring something can," said Michael Mathers. "We'll sit and eat and watch the game."

On the west side of Craig the Castle Ranch Steakhouse at the Clarion Inn & Suites has plenty to offer its patrons as well. Manager Zac Weiner said Frank Hanel of KRAI will be there to talk football with everyone else in attendance, with special prices and prizes in the plans as well.

“Our new chef is planning lots of new food specials,” Weiner said, including beer bread pizza, 50 cent wings and nachos. “There will be t-shirts and we’ll have a raffle for a Broncos jersey that can be customized by the winner.”

The Super Bowl is often a big deal for sports fans, but with the home-state Broncos playing for a championship, every establishment is working to be the most popular place in town.

“We’re going crazy for the Super Bowl,” Weiner said. “I’m excited for it, I think a lot of people are excited for it.”
