Craig briefs: Holiday Inn gets new name - Clarion Inn & Suites

Holiday Inn gets new name: Clarion Inn

The Craig hotel formerly known as the Holiday Inn officially will be branded as a Clarion Inn & Suites.

The hotel was bank-owned before it was bought by New York-based Jacobs Real Estate Advisors. They purchased the 152-room hotel for about $3.1 million in November under a newly formed company called Jacobs 300 Colorado LLC.

Sholom Jacobs, owner of the new Clarion, confirmed the brand change Tuesday in an email that said, β€œIt’s true.”

The hotel will see some big changes during the next year besides a new name. About $1.5 million will go into improvements, Jacobs said in November.

The new owners will host a meet-and-greet with drinks and appetizers at 4:30 p.m. today at the hotel.
