On the Record for Sept. 11, 2013

Crime of the month

From the “You can’t make this stuff up” file:

Officers responded to a neighborhood for a report of a screaming child. They found two children: a 1-year-old girl who was locked into a ferret cage and her 3-year-old brother who had locked her in the cage. The brother told officers he thought it would be “funny.” Officers and social services investigated and warned the mother to take more precautions.
