Fitness Tip: Eat less calories, burn more fat

According to Helpguide.org, “Your weight is a balancing act, but the equation is simple: If you eat more calories than you burn, you gain weight. And if you eat fewer calories than you burn, you lose weight.” Each pound of fat is 3,500 calories. In order to lose one pound of fat per week, one must cut caloric intake by 500 calories per day. (500 calories x 7 days = 3,500 calories per week). To safely lose two pounds of fat per week, simply increase exercise to burn 500 calories per day as well as consuming fewer calories.
