Search for 5-year-old boy in far South Routt County ends in tragedy

A 5-year-old boy died Thursday after wandering away from his parents and being found in a pond near a ranch in the southernmost part of Routt County, according to an Eagle County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman.

MCHS grad Nelson doubles up at track national championships

Moffat County High School graduate Alicia Nelson added to her growing list of accomplishments at the collegiate level last weekend, taking two individual national titles at the NCAA Division II 2013 Outdoor Track and Field Championships. That brought the former Bulldog and current Adams State University runner’s tally of national championships to four in the 2012-13 sports season, a number that would represent an excellent career total for most athletes.

Court documents: Lisa Lesyshen confesses to killing her son

The information was contained in a court order for a sample of Lesyshen’s blood that will be used to collect DNA. The court order also states Lesyshen bought .22-caliber ammunition at a Steamboat Springs gun shop the day before the shooting at her Stagecoach home.
