Craig Noelle Leavitt Riley, a veteran Colorado journalist, is the Craig Daily Press’ new managing editor.
Leavitt Riley’s first day at the Craig Daily Press was Thursday. As managing editor, she oversees the daily operations of the newspaper’s editorial staff and is responsible for all editorial content and decisions.
“I’m very excited to be joining the Craig Daily Press staff, and I look forward to engaging with community members and solidifying the newspaper’s status as the best source of local news and information in Moffat County,” she said.
Renee Campbell, the Daily Press’ general manager, said Leavitt Riley is the ideal journalist to lead the paper’s young and talented newsroom.
"Noelle is energetic, passionate and committed to community journalism,” Campbell said. “We're thrilled to have her on board as part of our growing team at the Craig Daily Press."
Leavitt Riley has a degree in journalism from Metropolitan State University in Denver. She has produced podcasts for The Denver Post, served as news editor and columnist for the Evergreen Newspapers, worked as a reporter for the Denver Business Journal, was the president of the Colorado Society of Professional Journalists, and worked as a freelance reporter and journalist for entities including the New York Post.

Today is the last day at the Craig Daily Press for reporter Joe Moylan, who has accepted a position as a reporter for the Summit Daily News in Silverthorne. Moylan has primarily covered county and city government and law enforcement in his 18 months in Moffat County.
“Joe has been a fantastic reporter for both the newspaper and the community,” Campbell said. “While he will be missed, we’re excited to have a versatile journalist like Andrea join our staff.”
